Scary Movie 6

Twelve years after the last release, Scary Movie is coming out with a sixth edition in 2025, and we can’t wait to see it. The Wayans brothers are teaming up to write the script which is sure to top the previous five editions released between July 2000 and April 2013.

ENTERTAINMENT BETTING

For those unfamiliar with the Scary Movie franchise, these horror comedies are a series of parodies of popular horror flicks. In the original Scary Movie, we saw parodies of Scream, The Sixth Sense, The Matrix, I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Blair Witch Project. This was 20 years ago, so the sixth edition will almost certainly be more current, but could also reach back to some of these classics.

In the Entertainment section of our sportsbook, you’ll find betting opportunities for guessing which movies will get included in the sixth. We’ve rounded up the top four picks on the board, but there are plenty more to choose from in Box Office Specials.

It -5000

The screen adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, It, fits the bill for a parody in Scary Movie 6. The Wayans brothers love to spoof supernatural horror flicks, and they could pull from many versions of this popular series. The plot of It revolves around a demonic clown named Pennywise who terrorizes a town, rising from the sewers every 27 years to feast on the town’s children. A group of misfit kids band together to battle Pennywise and save their friends.

The original screenplay came out in 1990 and had two parts: the original that featured the gang of kids, and a sequel that saw them return to the scene as adults. The re-make follows the same format as the original, with Part I focusing on the story of the children, while Part II features their return 27 years later as adults.

The clown, Pennywise is so iconic that he’d be easy to recognize in a Scary Movie skit. His grotesque face paint, flaming hair, and fistful of balloons makes him a compelling favourite to be included in Scary Movie 6.

Scream -3000

Scream is an easy pick to get spoofed in Scary Movie 6. There are six instalments in this mega franchise; the most recent came out in March 2023 and featured many of the same characters/actors from earlier editions. A seventh Scream is in the works now and set to be released in February 2026.

Scream is a classic American slasher/horror film that has an iconic killer character known as Ghostface for the mask he dons. He terrorizes high school students in various suburban locations, while poking fun at the horror genre. The teens are always at odds with the killer as they try to figure out who he is. The line “What’s your favourite scary movie?” has been immortalized in Scream.

One of the top contenders on the odds board for getting spoofed, Scream is a near lock at -3000, as so much of Scary Movie has already incorporated it. Scary Movie’s opening scene is a replica of the original 1996 Scream opener, with Anna Faris playing Drew Barrymore’s character, Casey Becker. You may also remember the theater scene from Scream 2 getting a hilarious parody with Brenda (Regina Hall) taking the role of Maureen Evans.

You can bet on Regina Hall (-350) and Anna Faris (-350) returning to play any role, whether reprising their roles as Casey and Brenda, or taking a different one, in the Scary Movie 6 betting options.

A Quiet Place -1000

A Quiet Place is an intriguing pick that’s a little outside of the traditional American horror genre, but is still favoured to draw some betting action. It’s been spoofed many times before and could be lined up for another parody in Scary Movie 6.

The story takes place in a postapocalyptic world where aliens have come to earth and killed almost all of the human race. These creatures are blind, but have a highly acute sense of hearing and destroy anything that makes a sound.

The story follows a family (the Abbotts) as they struggle to adapt and survive in their remote farmhouse in upstate New York. Emily Blunt plays the pregnant mother who must navigate the perils of childbirth as silently as possible to save herself and her newborn baby.

There’s more material than just the original 2018 film for the Wayans brothers to work with here. A Quiet Place Part II came out in 2020 and carried on the same story from the first edition. Blunt reprised her role, and Cillian Murphy was added to the crew.

Get Out -1000

This 2018 Oscar winner (Original Screenplay) is a good candidate for a Scary Movie spoof. It’s a satirical take on the horror/comedy genre and weaves societal critiques into a compelling storyline that becomes more absurd the longer it goes on. This was comedian-turned writer/director Jordan Peele’s first movie and it was a huge success.

The plot follows an interracial couple, Chris and Rose, who drive to Rose’s parents’ house so that Chris can meet them for the first time. Chris notices some unusual behaviour on behalf of the parents and writes it off as harmless adjustments to their daughter’s new boyfriend. But as the story progresses, he learns the sinister truth behind their actions and must escape.

Clay Wiener directed a parody called Get In that reverses the racial roles from Get Out. In it, an interracial couple go to meet the boyfriend’s African American family over a weekend. Hilarity ensues with the reception of Kelly, a size 2 white woman with a laundry list of food intolerances/allergies who can’t escape the inquisitions of her boyfriend’s family. Will the Wayans also include a spoof of Get Out in the Scary Movie 6 script? Bet on it in our sportsbook and get paid if you see it play out on the screen.
